Clinical Research Center Kiel

Clinical Research Center Kiel is an ambulatory investigation site for clinical research acting as both CRO (contract research organization) as well as SMO (side management organization). We are service provider for partners from the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry. Furthermore CRC realize independent research projects (investigator initiated trials).

We conduct clinical trials (phase III up to phase IV) according to national and international recommendations and legal requirements: Declaration of Helsinki, Guideline of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), German Drug Law (AMG), German Medical Devices Law (MPG).

Our professional scientific consulting and our principal investigator expertise guarantee an effective and economic design and realization of clinical trials.

In the last years we have conducted, coordinated and evaluated numerous nutrition studies in order to help producers of foods, food ingredients, and supplements to substantiate health claims by scientific evidence based on clinical trials.

Contribution to the FibeBiotic project

CRC-Kiel will be coordinating and be heavily involved in WP 5 (Human Intervention). It will conduct double-blind placebo-controlled randomized pilot trials using the influenza-vaccination model in order to select the most promising NPS and will conduct in a further step a large confirmatory clinical trial in order to provide the scientific evidence for health claim substantiation. Biomarker and microbiota analysis will be performed in cooperation with other FibeBiotics partners.
